A little help with Radar.
Where is radar available?
The first release covers the contiguous United States: the lower 48 states and Washington, D.C. Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and international radar are not included. You can still browse the map elsewhere.
Why is the map blank or the radar delayed?
A blank area can mean no precipitation, missing radar coverage, or images that haven’t loaded. Check the image time, confirm your connection, and tap Refresh. During an outage, previously cached radar may remain visible with a notice. Radar is not a complete offline map.
How do I use the timeline?
Play shows the last hour of radar. Drag the timeline to explore the available two-hour history. Tap Latest to stop playback at the newest image. Radar shows recent observations; it does not predict future storms or provide alerts.
Why don’t I see a path?
Enable Record recent locations in Settings and allow location access. A path appears after sustained travel away from your starting area. Small movements around home, GPS drift, and recording gaps are filtered out. The violet dot appears only when a recorded route exists at the selected time.
Does recording continue when my phone is locked?
Only if you enable Record in background in Settings. This option is off by default and can affect battery life. iOS may pause or stop updates; recording is not guaranteed after the app is force-quit.
How do I erase my locations?
Open Settings → Erase location history. Disable Record recent locations as well if you want recording to stop. Your history stays on your phone and normally covers the last three hours. Read the privacy policy for retention details.
